How to Pray for Me

Many have asked me, "How specifically can I pray for you while you are in Haiti?"

Here is my answer:

Please be praying for God's will to be done on this trip!

I ask specifically that you not pray that God gives me strength during this time, but that He becomes my strength!  And please don't pray for God to teach me to be peaceful, but instead pray that the Prince of Peace would overtake me and fill me with himself!  And I ask that you not pray for me to serve and love others well, but that the Holy Spirit serves and loves in and through me!

I am willing and said "Here I am, Lord, send me to where you can best use me!"  In just a few days after praying that prayer God put Haiti heavily on my heart.  He has orchestrated this entire trip and  I want Him to use my hands and feet in any way He chooses.  I refuse to do anything apart from Christ!

With that in mind, I ask that you pray that I would have ears to hear and eyes to see!  And that I would be an obedient servant.  I want everything I do to be out of an overflow of His love-not out of obligation of being a Christian, or being on a mission trip, so that it is evident to everyone around me that God's love is sufficient!

I truly want to be filled with His presence, consistently walking in the Spirit, heavenly minded, and pressing deeper into my love relationship with Him, even by the minute! 

In summary, I don't want to be in Haiti constantly asking myself "What Would Jesus Do?" 
Instead, I want Christ to fill me with himself and love in and through me.  I've tried to imitate Jesus Christ in my own strength and every time I've failed miserably, but when I allow the impartation of Jesus Christ to overtake me, suddenly, it all works...because it's Him imitating Himself, and He's very good at being God...
